Palmerston North X-Ray (Broadway Radiology & Central MRI)
Palmerston North X-Ray (PNX) is a partnership between Sonic Healthcare New Zealand Ltd and local radiologist Dr Peter Dixon.
PNX operates with the full backing of Sonic Healthcare Australia, a multi-million dollar corporate organisation with interests in radiology and pathology. Sonic Australia owns the MEDLAB Group pathology laboratories and two other private Radiology Practices in New Zealand.
PNX was formerly a partnership between Dr Dixon and Castlereagh Radiology; a Sydney based private radiology partnership.
In December 1998 Castlereagh purchased the local private practice “Mercy Radiology” owned and operated by Dr Lauretta Tan. Dr Tan subsequently retired and Dr Dixon remained to work in the PNX partnership.
PNX established a comprehensive private practice called Broadway Radiology, situated at 197 Broadway Avenue, Palmerston North.
Castlereagh Radiology was the original partner in PNX but with subsequent changes in ownership, Castlereagh Radiology was merged with Hunter Imaging (a private practice based in Newcastle) to form Pacific Medical Imaging, which in turn was purchased by Sonic Healthcare Australia in January 2000.
Better known as Broadway Radiology, Palmerston North X-ray Ltd (PNX) is one of the main providers of diagnostic radiology services to the Manawatu region and beyond.
It operates from a number of sites in Palmerston North and is a fully accredited through International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ).
